Day One:

We will depart Phoenix at 7 am and head north to Sedona. The otherworldly beauty of Sedona has captured the attention of ranchers, settlers, movie makers, healers, artists, and tourists for centuries. Within Arizona, Sedona is the second most visited destination, exceeded only by the Grand Canyon. Among the towering red rocks discover hidden Native American ruins and feel the vortexes enliven your senses. If you've lost your creativity or misplaced your curiosity, you will find both in this landscape of vortexes and natural cathedrals. Upon our arrival at this magical spot, we will go on a short hike prior to lunch. After lunch, we will head to the range for our Basic handgun session. This training session begins with the foundation of firearm education--safety. You will learn how to safely clear a firearm, determine your dominant eye, load and unload your magazine, proper two-handed grip, shooting stances, sight alignment/sight picture, trigger discipline/trigger control, breath control, and basic marksmanship principles. Whether you’re a novice, a new firearm owner, or even an experienced shooter and haven’t trained regularly, this is a great refresher. After our training, we will get checked into our Airbnb, shop for groceries, and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Day Two: After a hearty breakfast, we will go on another glorious hike amidst Sedona's towering red rock cathedrals. After lunch, we will return to the range for our second firearms training session. Our advanced handgun session builds upon the basic handgun class and includes students learning the following skill sets: how to properly clear a malfunction, magazine changes, self-defense ammunition considerations, and advanced self-defense shooting drills. After a short break, we will begin our concealed carry session, which dives deeper into several skill sets for those who are serious about carrying a firearm for self-defense and the defense of their loved ones. You will learn about various concealed carry holster considerations, proper drawing techniques from concealment, clothing considerations (dress around your firearm), advanced self-defense shooting drills, advanced situational awareness skills, and more.

Day Three: Today we are off to the Grand Canyon for a full day of sightseeing, hiking, and exploration. On the way, we will drive through the Navajo Reservation and visit the historic Cameron Trading Post. The Grand Canyon is the deepest and grandest of the 7 natural wonders of the world and we will see as much as we can in a day!

Day four: After an early check out of our Airbnb, we will spend the balance of the morning at the range for our final firearms training session on Red Dot pistol optics. Leave the iron sight age behind and step into the future. Proven on the battlefield and in competition shooting, there is no longer any debate that a pistol-mounted optic makes for faster and more consistently accurate shots over iron sights. Many law enforcement agencies are now moving to pistol-mounted optics. Students will learn all about pistol-mounted optics, and techniques to acquire the red or green dot optic. For those traveling with their firearm and do not already have a pistol-mounted optic, the instructor’s firearm will be made available for testing and training.

After a celebratory lunch, we will head back down to Phoenix where this adventure will end, but with plans for future BadAss adventures already in the making!
